Bailey Falter assigned to Reading Fightin Phils from Clearwater Threshers

Player to bolster Fightin Phils pitching rotation starting Tuesday

Indios de Mayaguez signing halted by legal snafu

The Philadelphia Phillies have reassigned left-handed pitcher Bailey Falter from the Clearwater Threshers to the Reading Fightin Phils, the team announced Monday. Falter, 25, was 5-6 with a 5.68 ERA in 17 starts for the Threshers this season. He struck out 91 batters and walked 33 in 89 1/3 innings. The Phillies acquired Falter from the Texas Rangers in a trade for right-handed pitcher Spencer Howard in March. Falter is expected to start for the Fightin Phils on Tuesday against the Harrisburg Senators. In a separate transaction, the Phillies announced that Falter's assignment to the Indios de Mayaguez in the Puerto Rican Winter League has been halted due to a legal snafu. The Phillies said in a statement that they are working to resolve the issue and hope to have Falter join the Indios as soon as possible.
